This past week, we’ve made quite a few trips to the beach! Devon came down with her girls last week for the day and we made a beach day of it. The girls had the best time running in the sand, splashing in the waves, and making sand castles. Devon and I got to sit and talk (!!!) – while we kept an eye on them. The girls found sand crabs and brought them home, so we had three new pets! Ahhhh!
Here is our little group of kiddos – it is crazy to me that the big girls have known each other since they were barely two years old. It is amazing to see how our families have grown and changed over the years – and of course, whenever I see a picture like this one, I always think of Devon’s twin boys, Blake and Ethan, and my twin girls, Vivian and Annemarie, who would have been in the picture, if only life had worked out differently… Thank goodness I went to that support group and met Devon! Grateful for the connection we have, and of course, I wish we didn’t need it! Ha! (Love how life is complicated like that sometimes…)
These two are getting BIG! Their birthdays are one week apart – we are going to have 8 year olds by the end of the summer!
These two were so sweet together. I still remember them being tiny babies together – the days are long but the years are short!
Then, on Monday, Mr. M and I took the girls back to the beach to set our little sand crab pets free! Haha. They NEEDED to go back to nature because I did not know what to feed them!
I love that our new house is still super close to the beach. The Indiana girl in me always gets a little thrill out of that…I hope these girls never take the beach for granted. I know I never will! I am hoping our beach days are a summer trend. Now that Violet (2) is not afraid of the beach, it’s SO MUCH more fun to go! 🙂
