Okay, so you remember how I just posted that we went to Adventure City on Sunday? Well, as if that wasn’t enough theme park to last us awhile – we went to Disneyland on Tuesday!
Well, Tuesday was the first day Mr. M has had off work in many moons. This week, Dancing With The Stars did not have a results show – so he had an entire day off! Woo-hoo!
I had it in my mind we would stay home, I would get caught up around the house, etc. But no…we went to Disneyland instead. Go big or go home. Haha.
Since we live in Southern California, we are able to get Annual Passes to Disneyland – which is a huge savings, obviously – and really lowers the pressure. If we go and it’s a bust, it’s no big deal since we can go back again for free (or sorta free, you know what I mean). I like going in the Fall because the crowds are pretty minimal and the park is much more mellow than usual.
Except that this time we unknowingly went on a “Special Day” – which was Mickey’s Halloween Party! You have to buy special wristbands for the event (we did not) – and it just means that the park is crowded with people wearing their Halloween costumes and those special wristbands let you stay after the park closes. So, even though it was more crowded than usual, the girls didn’t mind one bit and loved looking at everyone in their crazy Halloween Costumes.
We visited our brick, of course! It’s right at the entrance of the park so we never miss it. I love that Devon’s brick is right next to ours (Blake and Ethan). 🙂
The only reason I was hesitant about going to Disneyland this time was because of all the walking. Everytime we are there, we walk at least 5 miles! I was going to get a scooter (like I have with previous pregnancies) but they moved the place where they rent them and I was too hot and tired to find the new spot! So, I decided to skip the scooter this time – big mistake!
I should have rented a scooter because it was a VERY HOT day (in the high 90s) and all that walking was crazy exhausting. I am still pregnant-sick most days (okay, all days) – and then on top of that, I pretty much always feel like I’ve swallowed a box of Benadryl. Like I could just fall asleep any given second from narcolepsy.
So, basically, every time I saw an unattended scooter, I thought of stealing it and making a fast get-away. Haha. No really, in my delirium, I started weighing if I could hop on the scooter and race away without getting caught.
But that didn’t happen. I just drank lots of water and made lots of stops to sit on benches. The other story would have been much more exciting, I know! Ha!
I told Paprika we could come back to Disneyland whenever we want and I suggested we come every day (just to see what she’d say). She said she would miss talking to her Spanish tutor and reading her books, and what about math?! And piano practice?! And learning science?! She said she didn’t want her mind to become like a worm, so we should really not go to Disneyland too often.
Ginger and Violet had a great time. Here they are chilling out after having just met Tigger and Eeyore. These two really are two peas in a pod:
Fun times on the Carousel!
Meeting Aladdin and Princess Jasmine! We also met Jessie from Toy Story but those pics are on a different camera. Paprika especially wanted to meet as many characters as she could! We tried to meet Elsa and Anna but you had to get to the park right when they open to make a reservation – and we did not know that! So, maybe next time!
After Disneyland closed, we headed over to California Adventure for a few hours. We rode the Ariel Ride a gazillion times because Violet (2) wanted to – and we like to humor her. 🙂
All in all, a fun day at The Happiest Place on Earth!
