Now that Bachelor In Paradise is finished for the season, Mr. M has moved on to working at Dancing With The Stars. The schedule for DWTS is different (bc it’s a live show) – so Mr. M had his day off this week (his “weekend”) on Tuesday.
Violet really wanted to go to Mulligan’s Family Fun Center for the day. We hadn’t been in months, and all the girls really love it there. They have go-karts, mini-golf, paddle boats…that kind of stuff.
The place is always packed on the weekends. But…because we homeschool, we don’t have to go on the weekends. We can go on a random Tuesday afternoon, when everyone else is at school! Yay! This is what the parking lot looked like today:
I think the other cars in the parking lot were employees – our family was the only one there!
I did not go to Mulligan’s today because I badly broke my toe two days ago and I’m having trouble walking…and this place is all about walking! I was bummed to miss out – but the girls had some great bonding time with their dad, and I got to have a very rare few hours to myself. Win-win!
Mr. M said the mini-golf playing was comical because the girls are so bad at it.
That’s part of the fun of it, I guess! 🙂 They were all smiles:
On the tiny Merry-Go-Round – Paprika used to LOVE this thing, and now she’s too tall. Wahhhhh! 🙂 Violet and Ginger are fans – and pretty soon, Ellie (19 months) will be riding it, too!
So, as I mentioned, I broke my toe. I was cleaning up the house and I tripped over a dining room chair. My toe got lodged inside the metal part of the leg and then the chair flipped over, taking me and my toe down with it. I joked that it serves me right for picking up the girls’ toys. If I’d just left them on the floor, everything would be fine! 🙂
This is what the chair looks like, in case you’d like a visual aide:
It’s not a huge deal – there are far worse things, I know! It’s just painful and a nuisance.
After I broke it, it started swelling and changing color almost immediately. Now it looks like a black plum on my foot! Ouch! (I won’t show you a picture because that’s just gross).
Ginger (7) immediately came to my rescue and brought me an ice pack and some ibuprofen. She really wants to be a doctor – so she takes good care of her patients (our family). Violet (4) wants to be a nurse, so she was also very attentive. She got my water and a sticker. It was very cute. 🙂
Ginger taking notes on “my condition” – wearing her doctor’s coat and all!:
Ginger tells me that when she’s a doctor, she will work at the hospital on Tues., Wed., and Thurs. – and the rest of the week, she’ll stay home with her children.
She’s been reading lots of science books lately because she says that’s what she’ll need to know for medical school. I’m not complaining. 🙂
As I mentioned in my last post, my birthday was last week. I had a great birthday all around – and I got a present I’ve been wanting for at least 25 years.
A blue beach cruiser! Isn’t she beautiful?!
The good news is that even with a broken toe, I can still ride a bike. I went cruising around the neighborhood a bit today, and it was divine!
Before the toe thing happened, I was going for long walks with the girls every day. But I’m doing less of that now. The girls have been super helpful taking Ellie for walks up and down the street. They stay where I can see them, and Ellie loves the extra attention:
Paprika (10) and Ellie-Belly:
This was a late-night Target run last week. We always find a way to make it fun. 🙂
Paprika is very diligent with her violin practice. She’s been playing for a month already now. I had to order her a smaller sized violin because her violin (the one I agonized over buying) is too big! Argh. It’s okay – she’ll grow into this one eventually. Probably right around the time her new violin arrives…ha!
So, that’s all the news for now. Hope you’re having a great week!
