Paprika (11) had the time of her life yesterday because she got to go to the Lindsey Stirling concert (her #1 favorite performer in the whole world) and get the VIP treatment.
You may remember that crazy story about how Paprika said to me back in August that she wished Lindsey would perform on Dancing With The Stars, so that she’d get to meet her, since her dad works on the show. Well, of course, that did happen. Evan ended up being Lindsey’s editor, and Paprika got to meet Lindsey many times and even got both of her violins autographed by her.
Well, also right around that time it was announced that Lindsey would be doing a Christmas concert here in Los Angeles. Evan and I got online the morning tickets went on sale, and we were basically the first people (out of 7,000) to buy tickets. (It pays to hit refresh on your browser, apparently – LOL).
Anyhoo – we bought the premium VIP experience for Paprika’s Christmas surprise, and yesterday was the day of the concert.
She got to go backstage and meet Lindsey Stirling, have a private concert with her and about 20 other fans, go to a special Q&A, get to see all Lindsey’s costumes up close, go to a private Christmas party with Lindsey, have a private photoshoot, get signed swag and a snowglobe with their picture together, and of course, sit front row, center for the concert. Phew! It was like a dream.
I had Evan take Paprika to the concert, since he knows Lindsey pretty well now and I figured Lindsey might spend more time with Paprika if Evan was there. (Which she DID, so that paid off. Lindsey even remembered to ask Paprika about how violin and homeschooling are going. I was impressed!)
This was Paprika on the morning of the concert. She was PUMPED! They didn’t leave for the show until 2pm, so I kept asking her to do her school work to make the time pass faster. She was like: How can I concentrate on the best day of my life?!
They had a special Toys for Tots drop off at the concert, and Paprika bought these toys with her own savings:
Evan zoomed home from work (he’s back working on The Bachelor) – and picked her up at 2 p.m. on the dot!
Here they are downtown, waiting for the doors to open:

Even Evan got a picture – haha! She said: Thanks for making my packages look so good on DWTS. LOL

And finally, the concert!
Their seats were front row center, and Evan said he could reach up and grab an amp if he wanted to… I said, PLEASE DON’T! 🙂
The view from their seat (no zoom!):
The opening act was Mark Ballas (from Dancing With The Stars). Evan said Mark winked at him as a joke, because they’ve known each other for many years now. Surreal!
This was the view behind their seats:
Afterwards, Paprika said she was SO HUNGRY because she hadn’t been able to eat since breakfast (she was too excited). They stopped at In ‘N Out on the way home, and got back home around 1 a.m. Paprika was so hyped, she could not sleep. And, of course, she didn’t sleep the night before the concert either, because she was too darn excited!
She was the first one up this morning, and has been flying on a cloud ever since. Here she is in her Lindsey swag, and she’s been dancing around her bedroom all day. Christmas Break has truly begun! 🙂
