On Saturday, it rained! Water fell from the sky! I know this seems like no-big-deal to most people…but here in Southern California, we haven’t seen rain in a long time. We are in a big drought, and we have to be really careful how much water we use – it’s serious.
What is NOT serious is how much fun the girls had in the rain. As soon as it started raining, they ran outside to play! It’s kind of like the first snowfall, when you haven’t seen snow in forever. They played a long while in the backyard with the rain pelting down, and then Mr. M took them puddle stomping all around the neighborhood!
They tromped through the neighborhood with no umbrellas, and came home soaked! I stayed home with baby Ellie and with Violet, who wanted to stay warm and dry inside. 🙂 Ginger and Paprika are still talking about their rainy day adventures. Hopefully we get more rain – wouldn’t that be something?
Then on Sunday, it was so hot you could fry bacon on the sidewalk. I had Ellie down to her diaper, playing in the exersaucer. About mid-day, we decided to try out the AC for the first time ever. Remember when we had air-conditioning installed a few months ago? Well, I was feeling sheepish because we weren’t using it at all – but this week, we have! It’s been bliss having cool air inside on hot days outside. It’s the little things, right? 🙂
Oh, and remember yesterday’s post about Ladybug Girl? And this post from earlier this week about the beach? I started to get deja vu and I couldn’t figure out why. Then, I remembered this post from 2010! Wow, history really repeats itself, right?!
The more things change, the more they stay the same…
