It’s still Saturday (at least in this Time Zone – haha) – which means I am just hours away from turning 39 weeks! I know last night I wrote that long vent about feeling frustrated, sick, and tired. Today I woke up with a fresh perspective – it’s amazing what some good rest can do!
I actually felt better today than I have in a long while. It was a gorgeous day here in Southern California – so I knew a little sunshine would be good for everybody. We headed over to Paprika’s old elementary school (where she did Pre-K) and we had the whole playground to ourselves. I brought a folding chair so I could sit – and it was just perfect!
The girls played Hide and Seek, Wicked King, swung from the monkey bars, and played in the fresh air. I made sure to get a few pictures of us before we left the playground. I find that I am usually the one taking the pictures, so unless I specifically ask for pictures, these kids might grow up wondering where I was their whole childhood. Ha!
Also, I don’t want the new baby to think I didn’t take any pregnancy pictures with her. This may be her last photo in-utero…you never know!
Me and my Dad:
Grandpa and his girls:
At home, we’ve been keeping busy, too!
As I write this, my dad and Mr. M are in the next room doing Magic School Bus Science experiments with the girls. My dad was a scientist (chemist) for 35 years before he became a pastor! And even though Mr. M is Mr. Hollywood now (haha) – he majored in chemistry in undergrad. So – let’s just say that these two guys are having fun teaching science to the girls!
They’ve also been doing archery in the backyard. I think Mr. M loves it more than anybody – haha! Paprika’s become quite a good shot – we may have to advance to moving targets before too long!
One thing that is a bit concerning is that Ginger (5) has all of a sudden come down sick. I am hoping it’s just a cold. She came down with it last night and is feeling very lousy. I am doing a lot of hand washing, trying to contain it. It’s just not ideal timing, if you know what I mean!
So – I am giving her as much TLC as I can while doing my best not to expose myself or the rest of the family! Easier said than done. Haha.
This evening, Ginger and I laid in bed and watched Dumbo together (her favorite movie to watch when she’s sick) while the rest of the family went to In ‘n Out Burger for dinner. It was my dad’s first time going there, and it was a hit!
As of today, I honestly feel like I could be pregnant forever. No labor signs, no big contractions. I even half unpacked my hospital bag…it turns out I need face soap and my toothbrush at home as much as I need them at the hospital. Haha. 🙂
I am hoping for a middle of the night dash to the hospital, in full blown labor – fingers crossed, but I’m not betting on it!
