Thanksgiving this year was quite relaxing. We did our usual tradition of ordering our Thanksgiving meal from Whole Foods. It’s so nice getting to enjoy the day together and not worry about cooking (but still eat a gourmet meal – ha!) The girls went for bike rides, played outside – and I think we even went to the park. It was a beautiful, warm day here – so of course, the girls wanted to be outside.
Ginger before her bike ride:
Evan braved the Thanksgiving crowds to pick up our Thanksgiving dinner. This was the best year yet! The girls are not huge fans of traditional Thanksgiving food (understatement). They will barely try a forkful of it! This is Evan’s plate, in case you’re wondering. 🙂
Even though they won’t eat the food, we still all sit together and talk about what we’re thankful for. This year, we were all very thankful for family and health.
Even though they wouldn’t touch the main course, the girls were all very excited for Ginger’s pumpkin pie! Ginger (8) made a pumpkin pie and a chocolate cream pie from scratch.
Ginger’s pumpkin pie:
The pumpkin pie was amazing – we all said that Ginger won “Star Baker” of the family. Ha! The chocolate cream pie was pretty good, too. Even though everyone thought they’d like the chocolate pie better, surprisingly – we all preferred the pumpkin pie! It was really that good…
Getting ready for pie:
After dinner, Evan took the girls down to the beach/Pier to look at the lights. Paprika was so excited to go with her sisters, since they got to visit the night before! I love how the city decorates the beach for Christmas – it’s so festive. Tis the season! 🙂
