We’ve been up to a lot of fun happenings lately – but mostly, we’ve stayed close to home. This is such a magical time – the girls are SO happy, and they are a joy. They love being together all the time. It’s wonderful! Ginger (7) and Violet (5) play Barbies together for about 6 hours/day (not joking).
My Uncle Rob and Aunt Jackie gave us a HUGE bin of Barbies from the 1950s-1990s, with great accessories, etc. At first I was freaking out because of ALL the tiny pieces that get scattered everywhere – but they love it so much, I can’t deprive them of that joy. I’ll have to take a picture of them playing Barbies – they are so creative; it blows me away!
Miss Ellie Belly (23 months) is very much part of the sisterhood now. She runs around and plays with her sisters non-stop. Ginger (7) and Violet (5) treat Ellie like their own personal baby doll. They dress her up in outfit after outfit, and play with her until they wear her out – which is hard to do! Ha!
This past weekend, we were out for a walk and noticed that someone was putting this car into the garbage. It’s perfectly fine (just a little faded) – so we brought it home! Violet (5) loved driving it, although she did ask if we could paint it white and spruce it up. Violet definitely likes pretty things!
Even the very risk-adverse Ellie took a spin in the car. I insisted they wear helmets – this was when they were not moving before they put their helmets on.
They drove it around all day Saturday – we even took it to the blacktop at the local playground and let them run loose with it. Super fun!
Paprika loves biking. Here she is about to go on a bike ride with Mr. M. He’s supposed to be wearing a helmet (!!!) – but the helmet we ordered for him was way too small. I had to special order a helmet for his huge head – ha! It’s coming on Tuesday – so he’ll be riding safe from now on.
They rode their bikes quite far and ended up at a restaurant for lunch. Then, he came home and took the other girls out to lunch because they were jelly. LOL. 🙂
I took Paprika to see the movie Hidden Figures on Sunday night. We’ve been needing some inspiration in Math and Science for Paprika and this was just the ticket. It’s a very inspiring, uplifting story and I highly recommend it. We both loved it and as we left the theater, Paprika said: This really makes me want to go home and do math. Haha!
Playing outside with chalk earlier this week:
Violet and Ginger continue to be the best friends ever, and even insist on sleeping together with their dolls every night.
This fancy toy was MINE when I was little. 🙂 My Grandma sent it to me in the mail – and Ellie loves it! She rides around on it all the time. The strange thing is, I have very vivid memories of riding this bumblebee, and I remember feeling like a grown-up when I was riding it. I couldn’t have been older than Ellie. That’s crazy, right?!
We took a break from homeschooling over the holidays, but now we’re back full-force.
*Ginger’s (7) favorite subject is Biology. Her least favorite subject is Math (even though she’s very good at it – ugh!)
*Violet’s (5) main focus is reading. She’s getting so good at reading – so I’m just teaching her that right now – because once she can read on her own, a whole new world will open up to her!
*Paprika (10) is obsessed with reading, animation, and storytelling, and drawing. She reads constantly – so she knows more than I do by now. Ha! Seriously, though – she’s our little Encyclopedia Paprika.
*Ellie (23 months) is learning how to use the potty. Here’s what she thinks about that! LOL
*As for me, I have another romance book (under a pen name) coming out in ten days! Being an independent author is more than a full-time job, with many different hats to wear. Even so, this will be the 5th full-length novel I’ve released in the past nine months. And that’s not including my 4 LOL Detective Club books! I also have a 6th full-length novel that’s already finished, releasing in February – plus lots of other fun things ahead. It’s A LOT of work – but I love it. I do all this after everyone goes to bed at night…which means I am missing out on my sleep. You know you love to do something when you’d rather do that than sleep!
Hope you have a great week!
