Miss Violet (5) is very excited about Halloween this year. She had her heart set on being a Musketeer – and not just any musketeer, but the blue one from the Chasing Fireflies catalog – I swear I try to smuggle that thing into the recycling bin before the girls see it…but they catch me EVERY time! Ha!
Anyhoo – I checked Ebay to find the costume and bid on the two ones near her size, but I lost the auctions at the last minute! So, I turned to Craigslist and found the perfect one for a steal. Yay! The seller lives over an hour away, so she agreed to ship it for me. How great is that?!
The costume is missing a few items (leg warmers and a sword) – which we can pick up (or make) before Halloween. 🙂 The Craigslist package arrived with the costume today, and Miss Violet was as pleased as punch.
Can you tell?
She insists that the blue jewels in the necklace and earrings are not “real sapphires” – but says she’s glad about that because she woulnd’t want to get cut by them. She says big sapphires are probably dangerous. Ha!
She said that the gold on the jewelry is probably real gold because that’s “not as dangerous, and a little gold never hurt anybody.”
I just love her to pieces. Happy almost-Halloween, Violet! 🙂
