Yesterday, we went to the birthday party of some dear friends of ours! It was at a local park – and we stayed the whole afternoon. The girls had a blast! I carried Ellie (7 months) in the baby carrier most of the party, and she was so happy to people watch. She slept a little in the carrier, and then towards the end of the party, I let a few people hold her. She definitely has strong opinions about who can and who can’t hold her! Some of the moms she just loved, and others she was horrified. It was pretty funny. 🙂 Of course, I was always there to “rescue” her and take her back when she decided she’d rather not be held by someone new.
Ginger (6) and Violet (3) found a wooded area in the park that was like a magical forest. They played for about two hours in their magical forest – no playground equipment required:
They played with lots of friends:
Ginger has one special new friend who she LOVES. When I told her that this friend was going to be at the birthday party, she was so excited she could barely sleep the night before!
The girls loved the birthday cupcakes, and singing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl!
One of Paprika’s very best friends was at the party. They had a wonderful time swinging, playing, and searching for treasure. Most of the kids at the party were younger, so I was glad Paprika (9) had her bestie by her side. 🙂
I asked Violet to pose for a picture for me, and this is what I got! Ha!
We were at the park playing for about 5 hours, so by the end – the girls were hot, sweaty, and ready to go home for a bath. This is what five hours of playing outdoors, climbing trees, eating birthday cake, and running free looks like. Ha!
This week has just been packed – I have so much more to write about, including gymnastics! I’ll blog about that probably tomorrow. Have you noticed I’ve been blogging almost every day lately? It’s been a goal of mine – and so far, so good.
Mr. M is working every day without a break for the foreseeable future on Dancing With The Stars (he’s working both days this weekend). The Premiere is on Monday and Tuesday – so please watch! I will be watching on Hulu the next day, since we don’t own a TV. Fingers crossed for a great premiere for him, and hopefully a day off before too long. Ha! I am grateful for his work because he loves it and it supports our family – and then I also love it when he’s home. It’s a dance, I suppose. (See what I did there? Haha).
