Evan is usually the person who practices piano with the girls, but since he’s been working so much, I’ve been helping the girls practice during the day. I wanted to take a little video snapshot of the girls practicing piano, because it changes so fast!
I tried to get a video of Ellie (2) “practicing” because her way of playing piano is suprisingly gentle and melodic – but I ran out of space on my phone! Next time!
Paprika (age 11). She usually likes to practice on her own, first thing in the morning right when she wakes up. She says that playing piano and practicing violin first is a great way to start her day. After that, she starts on her math lessons. She says she likes to get the hard things out of the way first, so she has time to daydream in the afternoon. 🙂
Violet (age 5). She often says she “forgets” her songs so she can get out of practicing, but when I ask her to play them, she does it perfectly the first time. Haha. 🙂
Ginger (age 8). I would say that Ginger gets the most “joy” out of playing piano. She likes to have fun with it – and she makes up her own songs, etc. This video is a little longer because she messes around for the first part of it – until she focuses around the 4:30 mark. I love all her enthusiasm for piano – I want her to keep that, so I try to just let her do her own thing on the keys and interfere as little as possible! 🙂
