I have some cute pictures from the past few days to share of the girls having their “Sister Time” – That’s what they call it whenever they spend time together, which is pretty much always. Ha!
Ellie (1) and Violet (4) are fast friends. Can’t you tell? Violet adores her baby sister and can’t get enough of her. Not a speck of jealousy – I’m so grateful for that!
Ellie will only sit for so long before she crawls away.
She’s like: Come catch me, big sister!
Paprika (9) and Ginger (6) are so crazy about one another that they basically want to spend 24/7 together and even want to sleep in the same twin-sized bed. They stay up all night telling stories and making jokes.
On Saturday, they went to a theater production of The BFG (based on the book by Roald Dahl).
Anyhoo – here are the “big” girls outside the theater before the show:
I bought the tickets back in October: front row, center – of course! I didn’t buy Violet a ticket back in October (at age 3) because I didn’t think she’d be old enough to enjoy it.
Well, four months is a long time in Violet’s life, and it turns out that she would have been mature enough to go now – for sure. She felt a little left out of this Sister Time. So, I had Mr. M take Paprika and Ginger to the play while I took Violet (4) and Ellie on a special “date” to Barnes and Noble for cookies and books.
From now on, I will definitely include Violet in all the theater trips. These girls are growing up!

On Valentine’s Day, the girls bought each other gifts with their own savings. They organized a little sister exchange. It was so cute!
Here they are playing with a Busy Book together while we waited for Mr. M to come home:
The girls have taken over doing the laundry. They bring great JOY to doing the laundry together – and always include it in their Sister Time activities. Here they are putting away clothes on Sunday (Valentine’s Day). It’s a blurry picture, and I love it anyway:

And, of course, Ginger (6) and Violet (4) are two peas in a pod. From gymnastics to just playing, they spend most of their time attached at the hip. They are crazy about each other. This picture was taken today – in the backyard. They played away the sunny afternoon (it was 80 degrees!) – and had the best time.
Ginger tried to bury her “Time Castle” (Time Capsule) – and then realized she wouldn’t be able to get the stuff out of it again, so she nixed that idea soon afterwards.
They got out the umbrellas and pretended it “rained” using the hose (only a little bit of water) – and climbed the avocado and persimmon trees. They have so much fun drawing, reading, laughing, and playing together.
I’m so grateful for the friendships these girls are cultivating with each other. Having this time together is so precious, and I’m so thankful that they appreciate it as much as I do. I love watching them together – it is one of my greatest gifts as a mom…truly!
