(Above: Before they left for the show on Halloween – Ellie stayed home with me!)
What a week…I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll start by writing about something happy…Halloween!
We had a great one this year. Evan took the three big sisters to Dancing With The Stars for their Halloween show. It was Paprika’s third or fourth time going – but it was the first time for Ginger (7) and Violet (4).
This next picture is outside the Bungalow where Evan spends about 100 hours/week! The girls got to meet all of Evan’s co-workers and hang out in the Editing Suites before the show…
It’s always great to go to the show with Evan because they got to meet the cast members, dancers, and talk to Tom Bergeron (the host), etc. Tom always remembers Paprika (10) and he’s very sweet to her, which is really nice. He’s a very classy guy.
On the Red Carpet:
The crowd before the show. If you look closely, you can see Paprika dancing by herself out there on the floor. I’m not sure if there was music playing! 🙂
The girls in their seats:
Usually, they sit in the front row on the floor. But Evan decided to sit in the first row of the balcony this time because he wasn’t sure how Ginger and Violet would handle the very loud show.
Violet is so young (you’re supposed to be 10 years old to be in the audience and she was 4)
Ginger has pretty high anxiety (understatement) – so she can get really overwhelmed by noises and crowds.
Paprika does pretty well in the front row, but she says it’s exhausting because you always have to look happy and be clapping. Ha!
This is the view from their seats. They could see everything perfectly:
All the girls ended up doing great at the show! Ginger (7) and Violet (4) were so excited the night before the show that they could not sleep a wink. Ginger got about 1 hour of sleep (6 am – 7 am) – and Violet slept about 3 whole hours. So, they were loopy, but they held it together.
Paprika (10) went dressed as Kubo from the movie Kubo and the Two Strings. We made her costume, including the shamisen (the stringed instrument).
Ginger (7) went as a Butterfly Princess.
Violet (4) went as Elsa.
Ellie (21 months) refused to wear a costume, even though I had several options for her. She threw a fit when I tried to put them on her, and instead went as a real grumpus for Halloween. Haha. Oh well, there’s always next year!
This was one of Ellie’s options (a mermaid) – and she happily wore it the week before! But on the day of Halloween, she wanted nothing to do with it. LOL
The day after Halloween, Violet (4) wanted to wear Ellie’s other costume (a ladybug)…so at least I got one picture of it! 🙂
