It has been HOT here! We’ve been keeping cool indoors a bunch this week, with occasional trips to the backyard to jump in the baby pool. Evan took the girls to the beach on Saturday and the local pool on Sunday but I’m not ready to do that YET by myself with Baby Huck plus four more kids. Maybe in a few weeks! Haha.
Never to fear – there’s lots to do! The girls are keeping busy taking summer piano lessons, Paprika (11) is taking violin lessons, and we’ve managed to go to La Brea Bakery, Target, and a bunch of other air conditioned places! Ha!
Violet (6) with Baby Huck:
Because we’re indoors a lot right now, I’m trying out some fun online classes for the girls. As you might remember, Paprika has taken Craftsy classes for years – (here’s a post from four years ago when she started). Now they have something called Craftsy Unlimited – so you get all the classes, which is great because it’s less of a commitment. I was always so nervous buying a class for Paprika and wondering if she’d like it! They are offering a free trial for 7 days, and you know how I love a free trial! Haha. 🙂 So we’re doing that now to see if it’s going to be something we’d like to do long-term. I’m betting we will!
For the younger girls, I got a free 4 week trial of ABC Mouse. I remember Paprika did this back in the day and loved it – so I wanted to see if Violet and Ellie would like it. Four weeks is a good amount of time to figure that out – and, like I said, it’s FREE! Haha. So the girls have been playing on that on the computer/iPad, and I’m counting it as part of our homeschool for the summer.
In other news, Violet lost a tooth! Her front one! It was hanging on forever, and I was ready to see it go. She told me to keep and hide it from the Tooth Fairy because, “Tooth Fairies are creepy. Why would a fairy want somebody’s used tooth?”
In the evenings, when it’s nice and cool, we’ve been taking Baby Huck for walks. He is the BEST baby, I swear. My heart is full. So full…
Last night on our walk:
Hope you’re keeping cool and having a good summer so far. 🙂
