Paprika went to see Dancing With The Stars tonight (Monday) and she had the time of her life!
Now, usually, whenever there’s something exciting about to happen – we cannot tell Paprika ahead of time or else she will not sleep a wink for days beforehand. I don’t know why we told her this time – but we did! We spilled the beans on Sunday that she was probably going to go to work with her Daddy the next day. And of course, by work I mean DWTS!
And sure enough, she was up all night, tossing and turning with excitement. I think she slept a total of 20 minutes. 🙂 She was just bursting with joy and anticipation.
She was so excited to have a special day with her dad all to herself – and to get to go see where he goes to work every day. I snapped a picture as they left the house in their matching blues:
When they got there, it turned out that Mr. M had a bunch of work to do behind the scenes (he’s an editor on the show). So, while he fixed graphics, made last minute edits, etc. – Paprika used the phone to call people around the office, and had a jolly old time:
Then it was time for the show! He took Paprika backstage through the celebrity entrance – and they were the first ones in their seats. Paprika was SO excited by their seats – Front Row, Center. (You know how we love to sit in the front row).
Seriously, they had the best seats in the house! Have you ever seen a happier girl?
So excited to have her special day with her daddy:
Since they were there before anybody else, she got to stand on the stage for a moment. This is the stuff of dreams for a little girl!:
Now, since we don’t own a television (and haven’t for almost a decade!) – I knew I wouldn’t get to see the show as it aired. I texted a few people, and before you know it – I had everyone sending me pictures and videos of their TVs.
Seems like every few minutes, someone would text me a picture of Paprika and her handsome daddy right there on camera. 🙂 It was one time when I wished we did have a TV.
On second thought, it was almost better that we don’t have a television because I had so many people sending me pictures – it made me feel like we were watching it together. And then tomorrow, I will watch it for myself (online, on Hulu).
After the show, the girls (Ginger and Paprika) had piano lessons at the music studio. I took Ginger, Violet, and Ellie over to the piano studio, and Paprika and Mr. M met us there halfway through. Then, afterwards they went to In ‘N Out Burger for dinner- yum! Then in the middle of dinner, Mr. M got a text that he had to go back to work to edit the DWTS Results Show overnight. Ay-yai-yai!
So that was a busy day in the life of our little family. I can’t wait to see the show and pause when my favorite people come on-screen. 🙂
