We had a very cute Halloween this year! Mr. M had to work on Dancing With The Stars, so I was flying solo for most of the day! I got the girls in their costumes early, so we could take pictures in the backyard. Now that it’s getting dark by 5 o’clock, I didn’t want to miss the chance to get a picture of them all together. I love looking back at pictures from old Halloweens and seeing them all in their costumes together.
Paprika (9) went as a Peacock, of course! She earned her costume by completing a whole school year of Math in 3 short months. 🙂
Ginger (6) could not decide what she wanted to be. She always likes to pick out something we already have, so she can change her mind at the last minute. This year, she decided to be a witch – since that was going to be my costume, too! She put this little ensemble together, mostly using MY clothes and a pumpkin T-shirt we already had. The witch hat was a gift from my Dad and Nana Nancy a few years ago. Score!
It worked out perfectly! Total cost for this costume? Free! Of course, she had to wear her glasses. Of course… 🙂
Violet (3) went as a Peacock Princess – which was another ensemble we just happened to have in dress-up! She wanted to be a peacock because she wanted to match Paprika!
And, of course, little Ellie Belly (9 months) went as an elephant. Or Ellie Finn, as I like to call her:
But that costume was a little hot since it was 86 degrees on Halloween! I got out this little Fairy costume we happened to have, and she loved it! It’s a size 3T and it fit well enough!
Oh, I just can’t get enough of her! She is such a happy little ball of chub. When we were taking pictures of her, her big sisters were yelling “Chubby!!! Look over here, Chubby!”
And sure enough, whoever was saying Chubby, that’s where she’d look. 🙂 She really thinks that’s her name, poor thing!
Mr. M got home from work just in time to grab a picture and go trick-or-treating with us! He loves to go as a Gorilla every year – and every year, it makes our kids cry. They get so scared. This year I made him keep the mask off – so he was kind of Half Gorilla. Much less intimidating.
And speaking of, Ellie got so scared by my witch hat that I had to ditch my witch costume! So, I went as myself – a slightly frazzled mom. That works, right? 🙂
We had friends over to our house for a little Halloween party and Trick-or-Treating.
This is the group shot of our kids together. How cute is that?! (I admit, I might be biased):
The kids had so much fun running from house to house to ask for candy. Even Ginger, who is pretty reserved and quiet wanted to go Trick-or-Treating this year. I know this age/stage doesn’t last forever, so I am soaking it up while I can. It is so sweet. 🙂 Which is what my house is right now – sweet – because it’s covered in Halloween candy! (It goes to work tomorrow with Daddy, so eat up kids…haha)
